We are currently accepting applications for a geotechnical engineer position in our Manchester, NH and Somersworth, NH offices.

Job Requirements

5 to 10 years of related experience preferred. Candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent technical skills. Candidate must have experience with geotechnical conditions in New England. Candidates must be able to lift heavy samples and equipment. Position requires some travel and candidates must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.

Registration Requirements

Candidate must have valid P.E. registration with ability to obtain registration in New Hampshire.

Education Requirements

Prefer candidate with Masters degree in geotechnical engineering. Candidates must have Bachelors degree in civil engineering with concentration in geotechnical engineering or similar field.

Cole Engineering, Inc. is accepting applications for a Spring 2015 opening for an Administrative Support position in our Augusta Maine office.   Duties include data entry; scheduling of personnel; answering telephone; greet and direct visitors;  filing, mailing, emailing; word processing; preparing, compiling and distributing documents including reports, letters and memos; maintain electronic and hardcopy files; maintain neat and clean work area; help maintain office equipment; assess and maintain inventory of printing and office supplies.

Job Requirements

Candidate must be a team player, personable, detailed and accurate in the performance of their duties, self-motivated, have effective communication skills and 2 to 3 years related experience. Construction Inspectors - Maine

S.W. Cole Engineering, Inc. is accepting applications for anticipated 2015 construction season openings for construction inspectors for projects throughout Maine. Responsibilities include conducting inspection services for transportation projects. Positions that may be available require differing levels of experience in transportation related construction and engineering, including civil, highway, marine, railroad and related fields.

Job Requirements

Work includes observing and documenting work performed by contractors to assess conformance with plans and specifications, contract administration, reporting daily progress, tracking and documenting quantities of work performed, resolving construction issues in the field, and other responsibilities the DOT assigns.

Candidates shall have knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, ability to read and interpret plans and specifications and to calculate quantity takeoffs. Candidates must have previous experience with the observation, inspection and/or QA/QC testing for transportation related construction projects. Candidates must be computer proficient, and have effective written and oral communication skills. Preference for candidates with certifications including NETTCP HMA Field Inspector, NETTCP Soil & Aggregate Inspector, NETTCP Concrete Inspector, NETTCP QA Technologist, NETTCP HMA Plant Inspector, ACI and Certified Nuclear Gauge Operator. 

Position requires some travel and candidates must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.

Education Requirements

All positions require high school diploma.  Preference for candidates with Associates degree in related field. Some positions may require Professional Engineer registration and Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or similar field.

Driller - Maine

We are currently accepting applications for the position of Driller to operate geotechnical and environmental drilling rigs. 

Job Requirements

We require a minimum of 5 years of experience operating a drill rig.  Position will be based in Maine (specific location is flexible) and will require extensive travel to work sites throughout Maine, and New England.  Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment and supplies up to 100 pounds, and work outdoors in all seasons and conditions.  Tasks include drill rig operation and maintenance including soil boring and sampling, rock coring, measuring water levels, installing monitoring wells, installation and measurement of instrumentation, and basic maintenance of equipment.  Must have valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate heavy duty trucks, towing a trailer, and should have a clean driving record.  Must have a Class A CDL or obtain one. OSHA safety training a plus. Position requires working well with others, including other drillers, drilling assistants, engineers, scientists and clients. Must also provide direction to driller’s assistant. 

Education Requirements

Minimum of high school diploma required.
