Senior GeoEnvironmental Professional

We are currently accepting applications for a full time position.  Location will be at one of our existing offices in Northern New England.

 

Job Requirements

S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc. is seeking a multi-talented GeoEnvironmental Professional to work in Northern New England. Candidates must have 15 years of regional experience in a variety of environmental consulting services, including due-diligence, site remediation, borrow source evaluation, field and laboratory resistivity testing, geology and hydrogeology.  Responsibilities will include developing new business and expanding our environmental service areas and relationships in Northern New England. Candidates should have experience with site investigation and interpretation, excellent technical writing and communication skills, strong familiarity with a variety of regulations, and experience working with clients, legal counsel, subconsultants and regulators.

Qualified candidates will have a strong work ethic, work well independently, and have the ability to effectively mentor, train, and lead staff. Position may require some travel and candidate must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.  

Education Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor degree in Geology, Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field and hold valid professional certification in geology or engineering.

Job Requirements

Candidates must be responsible and have strong math skills. Construction and/or engineering experience preferred.  Candidates must be able to carry heavy equipment and samples, work in a variety of settings and weather conditions in all seasons, must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record. Some travel will be required.

Laboratory Coordinator - Williston, Vermont

We are currently accepting applications for immediate full time position in our new Williston, Vermont office to conduct QA/QC laboratory testing of soil, concrete, aggregate, and other construction materials. The position requires good organizational and time management skills.  Will work with field staff, assist in scheduling, and work with engineers and clients; coordinate and conduct laboratory test and evaluate and report results. Position will be filled when a candidate is selected - apply as soon as possible. 

Job Requirements

Must have previous experience in construction materials testing, construction QA/QC and/or special inspections. Additional requirements include excellent technical skills, including math, verbal and written communications, attention to detail, and client relations. Candidates with current certifications in construction materials testing (ICC, IBC, ACI, PCI, NICET and/or NETTCP) preferred. Candidates must be able to lift heavy samples and equipment (up to 70 lbs.). Position may require some local travel and candidates must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.

Education Requirements

Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology or similar field preferred, with a minimum of a high school diploma and related experience.

Drilling Assistant - Maine

Drilling Assistant - Maine

We are currently accepting applications for the position of Drilling Assistant to assist in the operation of geotechnical and environmental drilling rigs. 

Job Requirements

We require a minimum of 1 year experience working with equipment similar to drilling rigs.  Position will be based in Maine and will require extensive travel to work sites throughout Maine, and New England.  Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment and supplies up to 100 pounds, and work outdoors in all seasons, temperatures, and conditions.  Tasks include safely assisting the driller with all aspects of drill rig operation and maintenance including soil boring and sampling, rock coring, measuring water levels, installing monitoring wells, installation and measurement of instrumentation, and basic maintenance of equipment.  OSHA safety training a plus. Position requires working well with others, including other drilling assistants, drillers, engineers, scientists and clients. Must be able to work collaboratively and follow instructions. 

Education Requirements

Minimum of high school diploma preferred.
