Environmental Site Assessments

Gravel PitThe geo-environmental consulting team at S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc. regularly performs Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments for clients across northern New England. Our experience includes a variety of properties, including active and abandoned industrial mills, railroad properties, convenience stores, fuel storage and dispensing facilities, office buildings, automobile dealerships, manufacturing facilities, retail facilities, food processing facilities, agricultural land, timberland and abandoned urban properties.

As a firm with over 30 years of experience, S. W. Cole recognizes that our clients for environmental site assessments have different approaches to due diligence. We work with our clients to develop a scope of services that helps meet their due diligence objectives. We have in-house capabilities to conduct our own environmental database research and any geophysical assessment methods. We work with established sub-consultants to complement our own capabilities. S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc. has established relationships with our subconsultants to provide database searches, asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, drilling and direct-push sampling, analytical testing and geophysics.

Our clients benefit from the proximity of our offices to their project sites. We are uniquely positioned to offer cost effective, timely responses to our clients’ environmental site assessment needs. Clients can work with one project manager who coordinates services on multiple sites throughout northern New England.

PondS. W. Cole Engineering, Inc.’s six offices also give us the ability to respond quickly to large-scale short-term projects. For example, we mobilized teams of geologists and environmental scientists for projects with multiple sites across four states involving up to nine members of our scientific and environmental consulting team. We also have the ability to provide services for multi-site transactions, whether our client is closing facilities to liquidate their holdings, or developing new locations. Past clients have included former auto parts stores, retail chains, timber companies, conservation groups and radio stations.
