Geothermal Consulting
The quest for energy independence and renewable energy has led many facilities and developers in the Northeast to look into geothermal systems as a cost effective and LEED-approved heating and cooling solution. S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc. has been involved in many geothermal assessments throughout the Northeast since 2002, for projects ranging from academic buildings and dormitories to commercial and medical buildings. We offer pre-design consultations (including pre-design economic feasibility assessments), schematic design evaluations, design development (in which we work with a building mechanical engineer), preparation of construction and bid documents, and construction monitoring and verification. We also own much of our own instrumentation and testing equipment.
Our geology staff are encouraged to participate as members in the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSPHA), American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the National Groundwater Association’s (NGWA) geothermal interest groups. Our advice and experience has been sought by numerous clients and prospective converts looking to adopt geothermal technology for their facility heating and cooling needs. S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc. is also in frequent contact with numerous geothermal well drillers, geo-loop installers and heat pump installers to stay ahead of the curve with the applications of geothermal technologies available in the Northeast.
