S.W.COLE performed geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and special inspections services for a 15,000 sf addition to The University of Vermont Medical Center’s dialysis center on Joy Drive in South Burlington in 2015.
The firm was first retained by the project’s civil engineer to provide geotechnical engineering in 2014. The firm completed eight test boring explorations, soils laboratory testing and falling head permeability / infiltration testing in early 2015. As a result, S.W.COLE made recommendations regarding foundation type, site and subgrade preparation including erosion control, excavation and dewatering, drainage, backfill and compaction, entrance slabs and sidewalks and other elements related to the construction of the projects.
In 2015, during construction, S.W.COLE was retained by The University of Vermont Medical Center to provide construction materials testing of soils and fill, concrete, masonry and asphalt, and special inspections of soils, structural steel and reinforced concrete.
