Engineer’s Week in Maine is an industry effort to promote an interest in engineering among Maine’s youth as they explore their interests and potential career options. This year’s expo was held at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham on Saturday March 4, 2017. In addition to answering questions about geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and environmental consulting, S.W. Cole had an interactive display. This display demonstrated the use of H piles to support the foundation of a building. Visitors to the booth were awed when the stability of a pile-driven foundation was compared to other forms of support. Below are some of our favorite moments from the expo.
